Ines works with adolescents and their families offering a safe and supportive environment for adolescents to express and explore emotions, difficulties and needs; and providing support to parents in order to alleviate stress and improve the relationship between adolescents and their parents. Ines has significant experience in birth related trauma that may affect adolescent development, socially and academically. She is also familiar with difficulties that arise through immigration, like social integration and cultural acceptance. Ines has worked with the Social Services Center and MyMind and works as adolescent psychotherapist with the Northside Family Resource Center in Limerick City. Ines maintains a private practice in Abbeyfeale, along the N21, between Limerick, Tralee and Killarney, specialising in work with adolescents as well as working with adults. She conducts her sessions in English and German.
Ines holds a Post Qualifying Diploma for Adolescent Gestalt Psychotherapy through the Blackfort Adolescent Gestalt Institute . She obtained a BScHons in Psychology and BAHons in Counselling and Psychotherapy, awarded from the Open University and Cork Institute of Technology. Her professional foundation is in nursing and she has also completed a Higher Certificate in Gestalt Theory and the Advanced Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). She is accredited member with IAHIP (Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy). Ines is also a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Bord Altranais.
